BUTTER SURRY HILLS FRONT WINDOW ART SERIES
BUTTER x ROMAN JODY
Butter is launching a regular monthly art series in the large and imposing front windows of the Surry Hills venue!
The program will allow a local Sydney artist to take over the towering display, which is usually filled with a combination of kicks and Butter famous shoe boxes. Further, each artist will do a one of one AF1 that accompanies the display.
The first cab off the rank for August is the amazing Sydney creative Roman Jody.
Roman is a multi-faceted creative and strategist working across industries and cities. There is an underlying thoughtfulness and sharp aesthetic to Roman’s output that was developed while spending five years in New York, where he graduated from Parsons with a degree in Strategic Design and Management as valedictorian.
In 2016, Roman founded Jody Just, a streetwear label that has garnered international attention for custom and hand-developed garments and since relocating back in Sydney in 2019, Roman has also co-founded the suiting atelier Umi Nori, in the CBD.
Roman has painted 80 of the iconic Butter shoe boxes for the front window of the Surry Hills venue.
Starting 20 August the boxes will also be available for sale - at the very reasonable price of $40 per box or $100 for a set of 4 - and it will all be first in best dressed to get your hands on them!
The boxes will all be for sale via www.buttersydney.com.au
